Fire Ceremony and Munay Ki Rites

The Fire Ceremony will start at 7:00 PM.
Unless it is actively storming or the air quality absolutely horrible we will be outside, so please dress appropriately for the weather. Be prepared to stand outside for at least an hour.
Fire is used to release old patterns and things in our lives that no longer serve us. It also may be used to send prayers and energy to Spirit to bring in things that you would like to have in your life. For those of you who have not been to a fire before, come prepared with a 'death arrow' (a burnable item such as paper - with or without writing, a stick or prayer bundle). The energy of the issue you are releasing is blown into this item before it is placed in the fire. You may also prepare a 'spirit arrow' for something you wish to bring into your life.
The Munay Ki Rites start at approximately 8:30 PM.
For those of you who wish to start receiving rites this would be a good night to come. For those of you who have already started receiving the Munay Ki Rites we will be continuing those rites. The Rites will be explained more fully before they are given.

A Despacho (Haywarikuy in Qechua) is a prayer bundle created in ceremony by one or more people for a specific reason or with a specific intent. The ceremony is officiated by a medicine person or shaman and is the most common traditional ceremony of the mountain people of the Andes.
There are many, many kinds of Despachos. In keeping with this time of planting and the sowing of seeds the Despacho for the month of May is a celebration of Spring and growing things in honor of our Gardens. The intent of this type of prayer bundle is to send honor and gratitude to all growing things and the spirits of the land they grow on - the Santa Tierra Madres of our green places - as well as the water, soil and sunlight needed for their growth. This connects us with the essence of life that sustains us on our earth walk and is in keeping with our role as stewards of the Earth Mother - the Pachamama. Feel free to bring additional items to place in the prayer bundle as Spirit calls you.
